Chef Christine Ha will be hosting an interactive virtual cooking class to raise funds for charities Homemade Hope and Southern Smoke's COVID-19 relief efforts.

Christine Ha is the first-ever blind contestant and season 3 winner of the cooking television show “MasterChef” with Gordon Ramsay. In 2019 Christine opened her first restaurant, The Blind Goat, located in Houston, Texas, which The James Beard Foundation named a 2020 Best New Restaurant in America semifinalist.

The Blind Goat, a modern Vietnamese gastropub, is currently taking curbside and delivery orders. Visit: to learn more or support.

During the cooking class, Christine will be preparing a Thai-style laab salad. The ingredients are inexpensive and fairly easy to find, and the recipe is simple yet flavorful. Through a program focused on the culinary arts, Homemade Hope nurtures and empowers children living in homeless shelters, teaching them how to cook nutritious foods, developing their life skills and providing them with emotional and academic support.

Southern Smoke is a nonprofit 501c3 foundation created to raise funds for public charitable purposes, principally for support and assistance for those in the food and beverage industry and their suppliers. To learn more about this organization, visit
